Every child deserves the right to become the whole person he or she was meant to be.  But many children are experiencing developmental problems because of poverty.  That is why Child’s Hope sponsors programs that address that problem at the very core.  The programs concentrate on the smaller children of poor families – preschoolers who are most receptive to change – providing them with healthy, loving, family-oriented jump-start programs that will build their confidence and mould positive attitudes toward improving themselves.

Our Goal is to Even the Odds

Child’s Hope provides free learning materials and tutorials, with free supplies, and medical attention.  Before the children go to formal schooling, our jump-start program has taught them how to read and write and do simple math, and they will be eager to learn more.  Their skills will be at par with the more fortunate children who could afford good pre-schooling.  More importantly, they will have a healthy awareness of themselves, their families and their communities.

It has been a very humble but effective response to the needs of the more than 1,800 children we have helped to date.

FAQ

What is Child’s Hope?

Child’s Hope is a non-profit organization that seeks to uplift the poor by giving their children positive attitude toward education and a hopeful outlook in life.

 Why focus on small children?

Doleouts to the poor have very temporary effects.  Education is the key to improving their situation, and it must start at early ages to carry through.  Our focus on the smaller children gives the most lasting value for what our limited resources can afford.

How do you know that your programs are effective?

In our Antipolo Project, almost all the children who completed their year with us continue with their studies at the local public elementary school.  Drop out rates among our alumni, which could have gone as high as 50% among children in depressed areas, is practically nil.

Who are the people behind Child’s Hope?

Henry Lim, BJ and Tess Pulido, and Willy Zaragoza are the leading volunteers of Child’s Hope in the U.S. Ruben S. del Rosario Jr, Joey Ansaldo, Robert and Liza Galang, Jeannie and Cat del Rosario, Christine Rosal and Yeli Camus are the leading volunteers of Child’s Hope in the Philippines. Everyone we’ve asked to help is willing to help; that makes Child’s Hope everyone’s project!
